Key Responsibilities
Clinical Support:
- Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures, including restorative, cosmetic, surgical, and preventive treatments .
- Prepare and organize instruments, materials, and equipment needed for each patient procedure .
- Anticipate the dentist’s needs throughout procedures, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow .
- Take and process dental radiographs (X-rays) as directed by the dentist, following safety protocols .
- Prepare and mix dental materials such as impressions, cements, and composites .
Patient Care:
- Greet and escort patients to the treatment room, ensuring they feel at ease and informed .
- Explain procedures to patients and provide post-treatment care instructions clearly and compassionately .
- Monitor patient comfort during procedures and alert the dentist to any concerns .
- Assist with patient education on oral hygiene techniques and preventive care .
Infection Control & Sterilization:
- Strictly adhere to infection control protocols and sterilization standards in compliance with DHA regulations .
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments, equipment, and treatment rooms after each patient .
- Maintain clean and organized clinical areas, ensuring all supplies are properly stocked .
Administrative & Laboratory Tasks:
- Maintain accurate patient records and treatment notes in the dental software system .
- Assist with taking dental impressions and pouring, trimming, and mounting models .
- Manage inventory of dental supplies and notify the practice manager when reordering is needed .
- Support with appointment scheduling and follow-up as required .
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Licensure:
- Diploma or certification in Dental Assisting from an accredited institution .
- Valid DHA License or DHA Eligibility Letter as a Dental Assistant is mandatory .
Experience:
- Minimum of 2+ years of clinical experience as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic or hospital setting .
- Experience in [optional: insert specialty if relevant, e.g., orthodontics, oral surgery, endodontics] is preferred .
Skills & Attributes:
- Proficiency in four-handed dentistry techniques .
- Strong knowledge of dental instruments, materials, and procedures .
- Experience taking and processing digital dental radiographs .
- Familiarity with dental software for charting and record-keeping .
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a gentle, patient-focused approach .
- Fluency in English (spoken and written). Arabic language skills are a strong advantage .
