A leading organization in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia is seeking a highly experienced Senior System Administrator for a 12-month contract role with strong potential for extension. This senior-level position requires deep, hands-on expertise in enterprise IT infrastructure, virtualization, storage, and cloud operations.

About the Role:
You will be the cornerstone of the IT infrastructure team, responsible for the administration, optimization, and reliability of a complex, on-premises datacenter environment with emerging cloud integration. This role demands expert-level skills in VMware, enterprise storage, physical servers, and Linux systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary administrator for a large-scale VMware vSphere environment, managing vCenter, DRS, HA, and vMotion.
- Design, implement, and maintain SAN and enterprise storage arrays (NetApp, HPE 3PAR).
- Manage and troubleshoot physical server infrastructure from leading vendors (Dell, HPE, Cisco UCS).
- Administer and optimize Linux servers across multiple distributions.
- Contribute to the design, migration, and operations of cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Develop and implement automation scripts using Bash, Python, PowerCLI, or Ansible to streamline operations.
- Ensure high availability, performance, security, and capacity planning for all infrastructure components.
- Provide escalated Level 3 support and lead root-cause analysis for critical incidents.
- Create and maintain comprehensive system documentation and operational procedures.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of hands-on, progressive experience in IT infrastructure and datacenter environments.
- At least 8 years of deep, proven VMware expertise, including the design and administration of vSphere, vCenter, DRS, HA, and vMotion.
- At least 7 years of hands-on experience with SAN and enterprise storage arrays (NetApp, HPE 3PAR).
- Proven track record in managing physical servers from Dell, HPE, and Cisco UCS.
- Demonstrable skills in cloud infrastructure design and operations (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
- Expert-level Linux administration skills across multiple distributions (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu).
- Strong scripting and automation skills in Bash, Python, PowerCLI, and/or Ansible.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant professional certifications (VMware VCP/VCAP, AWS/Azure Architect, RHCE, ITIL).
- Experience working within the Saudi Arabian market or similar regulated environments.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals and security best practices for infrastructure.
