Key Responsibilities
As a Cardiac Surgeon at ZULEKHA HOSPITAL in Dubai, you will be at the forefront of cardiac care in the region.
1. Surgical Excellence & Patient Care:
- First and foremost, you will perform a full range of adult cardiac surgical procedures, including coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), valve repairs and replacements, aortic surgery, and minimally invasive cardiac surgeries.
- Furthermore, you will conduct comprehensive preoperative assessments, develop individualized surgical plans, and provide postoperative care in collaboration with the intensive care and cardiology teams.
- Consequently, you will maintain the highest standards of surgical safety, outcomes, and patient satisfaction.
2. Leadership & Multidisciplinary Collaboration:
- You will lead and supervise a team of junior surgeons, residents, and nursing staff during surgical procedures and ward rounds.

Requirements & Qualifications

Essential Medical Credentials:
- Medical Degree: MBBS or equivalent from an accredited institution.
- Postgraduate Qualification: Board certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery from a recognized authority, such as:
- American Board of Thoracic Surgery (ABTS)
- Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC)
- Royal College of Surgeons (UK, Ireland, or equivalent)
- European Board of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgeons (EBTCS)
- Australian/NZ Fellowship (FRACS)
- A minimum of 10-15 years of clinical experience post-internship, with at least 5 years as a Consultant Cardiac Surgeon in a reputable tertiary or academic hospital.
- A valid UAE Ministry of Health (MOH) license or eligibility to obtain one immediately. Candidates with DHA/HAAD licenses are strongly preferred.
Clinical & Technical Expertise:
- Proven, verifiable experience in performing a high volume of complex cardiac surgeries with excellent outcomes.
- Expertise in both on-pump and off-pump CABG, valve surgery, aortic surgery, and redo operations.
- Fellowship training in subspecialty areas such as minimally invasive cardiac surgery (MICS), transcatheter valve therapies (TAVI), or mechanical circulatory support (LVAD/ECMO) is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in utilizing advanced surgical technologies and electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
