What You Will Do
As Assistant Manager of the Raffles Club Lounge, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of lounge operations and leading a team to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
Staff Supervision and Team Leadership
You will manage and supervise all tasks of your staff to ensure maximum guest satisfaction through personal recognition and prompt, cordial attention from arrival through departure . This includes appraising appearance, discipline, and efficiency of all staff under direct supervision .
You will organize and conduct regular meetings for Raffles Club staff to facilitate smooth operations . Additionally, you will prepare efficient work and vacation schedules for staff, taking into consideration project occupancy, forecasts, and any large group movements .
Working closely with superiors and the Human Resources Manager, you will ensure departmental performance is productive by:
- Planning for future staffing needs and recruiting in line with company guidelines
- Preparing detailed induction programs for new staff
- Analyzing training needs and developing training programs
- Conducting probation and formal performance appraisals
- Coaching, counseling, and disciplining staff while providing constructive feedback
Lounge Operations Management
You will manage and supervise the lounge during operating hours, ensuring the entire range of services offered for the Raffles Club Lounge is maintained at the highest standards . You will liaise with the kitchen on food selection for Breakfast, High Tea, and Cocktail Hour to ensure exceptional culinary experiences .
Guest Relations Excellence
You will meet and greet all guests personally, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere . Overseeing maintenance of an efficient repeat guest history system will be part of your role, enabling personalized service for returning guests .
You will handle guest complaints and refer them as necessary, following up on corrective actions to ensure complete satisfaction . Attending to special requests by guests and monitoring guest comment cards and feedback will help maintain continuous improvement .
Administrative and Financial Responsibilities
You will compile, analyze, and control Raffles Club costs and inventory, ensuring efficient resource utilization . Preparing requisitions for amenities on a timely basis will be part of your routine responsibilities .
You will also prepare Raffles Club guest welcome letters and perform other related duties and special projects as assigned by superiors . Working with superiors in the preparation and management of the department’s budget, you will control and monitor departmental costs on an ongoing basis to ensure performance against budget .
Sales and Promotion
You will promote inter-hotel sales and in-house facilities, contributing to revenue generation across the property .
Health, Safety, and Compliance
You will adhere to OH&S policies and procedures and ensure your direct reports do the same .
What We Need From You
The ideal candidate brings a combination of luxury hospitality experience, leadership skills, and a genuine passion for guest service.
Education
A Degree from a School for Tourism & Hotel Management or a related field is required .
Experience
You need a minimum of 3–5 years relevant experience in luxury hospitality, with at least 2 years at a supervisory level . Experience in a similar lounge, club, or front office role within a five-star hotel is essential.
Technical Skills
Knowledge of the entire Front Office Operations is required . Knowledge of Opera Property Management System is preferred . You should be familiar with guest history systems and have experience with cost and inventory control.
