What You Will Do
As an Order Picker at Al Qithara Foodstuff Trading LLC, you will play a crucial role in ensuring customers receive exactly what they ordered, in perfect condition.
Receive and Process Pick Orders
You will receive and check incoming pick orders, whether through paper forms or digital systems. Your first task is to understand exactly what items, quantities, and specifications each order requires before you begin selecting products .
Locate and Select Products
Using your knowledge of the warehouse layout or direction from supervisors, you will locate the required products on shelves. You will retrieve orders according to the specified quantity, size, and any other requirements, ensuring complete accuracy in every pick .
Apply FIFO and FEFO Principles
In food trading, freshness matters enormously. You will ensure that you apply FIFO (First In, First Out) and FEFO (First Expired, First Out) principles during your work. This means selecting products with earlier expiration dates first to minimize waste and ensure customers receive fresh items .
Build Pallets Properly
Once items are picked, you will arrange them appropriately on pallets. Proper stacking makes it easier for team leaders to pack orders and dispatch them efficiently. You will consider weight distribution and product fragility when building pallets .
Maintain Warehouse Organization
You will keep shelves arranged and organized throughout the picking process. This means returning items to correct locations when needed and ensuring everything stays in good condition. You will maintain your assigned sections and report any issues to management .
Handle Near-Expiry Items
You will assist in identifying and reporting near-expiry products. You may be asked to edit and arrange near-expiry reports, helping management make decisions about markdowns, promotions, or returns to suppliers .
Support Replenishment Activities
When not actively picking orders, you will assist with replenishment—moving products from receiving zones to storage shelves. This ensures that picking areas stay stocked and ready for new orders .
Follow All Safety and Hygiene Standards
Food safety is paramount. You will adhere strictly to all health, safety, and hygiene policies while handling products. This includes maintaining clean work areas and following proper food handling procedures at all times .
What We Need From You

Experience and Skills
Proven experience as an order picker or in other warehouse positions is preferred. You should understand basic warehouse operations and product handling .
If you have experience in food trading or supermarket environments, that is a significant advantage. Familiarity with food products and handling requirements helps you succeed faster.
Experience with RF (radio frequency) devices or warehouse technology is helpful, as these tools are commonly used in modern order picking operations .
Equipment Operation
While not always required, experience or a license in handling warehouse equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks is a plus. This versatility makes you more valuable to our operations .
Physical Requirements
This role demands good physical strength and stamina. You will:
- Stand for extended periods of time
- Lift heavy objects on a regular basis (up to 20-25 kilograms)
- Do repetitive tasks with few breaks
- Be on your feet throughout your shift
Language and Communication
You must be able to read and write in English at a basic level. Order forms and pick lists are typically in English, so this is essential for accurate work .
