What You Will Do
As an HR & Payroll Specialist at Progressive GE, you will take full ownership of the payroll function, ensuring every employee is paid accurately and on time.
Payroll Processing & Management
You will manage the end-to-end monthly payroll cycle for all employees, ensuring salaries, allowances, overtime, and deductions are calculated with 100% accuracy . This includes processing complex payroll scenarios such as bonuses, commission adjustments, and leave calculations . You will be the expert ensuring full compliance with the UAE’s Wage Protection System (WPS) and the timely submission of all payroll files . Calculating and processing end-of-service gratuity and final settlements for leavers accurately and in line with UAE labor law will also be a key part of your role.
HR Operations & Data Management
You will maintain and update all employee payroll records, timesheets, leave balances, and other related documents within our HRIS . Tracking and monitoring attendance, leave applications, and annual leave balances to ensure accurate reconciliation with monthly payroll data is essential . You will also support employee onboarding and offboarding from a payroll perspective, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete .
Compliance & Reporting
Staying constantly updated on all relevant UAE Labor Law regulations and ensuring payroll activities are fully compliant is a top priority . You will prepare and reconcile regular payroll reports for Finance, management, and audit purposes, maintaining a clear audit trail for all transactions . Coordinating with the PRO team to ensure processes like employee visa cancellations are documented and finalized correctly will be part of your collaborative duties .
Employee Support
You will act as the primary point of contact for all employee payroll-related queries, providing prompt and professional guidance on payslips, deductions, and leave balances . This requires excellent communication skills and a high level of customer service orientation .

Experience & Education
You need a minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience in a dedicated payroll processing role in the UAE . A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required .
Technical & Regulatory Knowledge
- In-depth knowledge of the UAE Labor Law, WPS system, and statutory requirements (including gratuity calculations) is mandatory .
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting .
- Experience with HRMS or payroll systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Zoho People, Odoo) is highly desirable .

- Unquestionable integrity and discretion to handle highly confidential employee and salary information .
- Strong analytical skills and an obsessive attention to detail to identify and resolve discrepancies .
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines .
- Proactive in identifying process improvements and resolving payroll issues .
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English. Arabic is a significant plus .
