We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Support Specialist – Oracle Core + Apps DBA to join a leading organization in Dubai, UAE on a 12-month extendable contract. This is a key role responsible for ensuring high availability, performance, and security of critical Oracle database and application environments.

About the Role:
You will be accountable for the availability, performance, cost optimization, and risk management of enterprise-level Oracle infrastructure. This hands-on role requires deep technical expertise in Oracle Database, Applications DBA, and High Availability solutions in a production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure service availability and performance exceed defined SLAs through proactive monitoring and maintenance.
- Install, configure, patch, and maintain Oracle Clusters and Standalone systems (Core Database & Applications).
- Manage Oracle High Availability technologies including Dataguard and RAC (Real Application Clusters).
- Perform database and application patching, upgrades, migrations, and implementations.
- Define performance management parameters and conduct regular tuning and optimization.
- Ensure DR readiness, support failover/failback activities, and update DR runbooks.
- Administer Middleware technologies and Oracle Application Server environments.
- Perform backup, recovery, and disaster recovery exercises using RMAN and other tools.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Oracle Database, Applications, and dependent services.
- Maintain security, compliance, and audit readiness across environments.
Required Technical Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience as an Oracle Core DBA + Oracle Apps DBA.
- Extensive experience in installations, implementations, patching, and upgrades in production environments.
- Strong expertise in Oracle High Availability technologies: Dataguard, RAC, ASM.
- Experience with Middleware technologies and Oracle Application Server.
- Proficiency in tools and utilities: OEM, OAM, RMAN, Data Pump, Import/Export, Audit Vault.
- Knowledge of performance tuning, troubleshooting, and optimization for Oracle Database and Applications.
- Experience with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning and execution.
- Knowledge of Oracle Internet Directory (OID) and identity management is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within IT and cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Oracle Certification (OCP, OCM) in Database or Applications.
- Experience in cloud migration (OCI, AWS, Azure) related to Oracle workloads.
- Knowledge of ITIL framework and service management practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
