About the Role:
You will define and execute the data science and AI strategy, leading a team to develop predictive models, advanced algorithms, and AI-driven solutions that solve critical business challenges and create competitive advantages. This role requires a balance of deep technical expertise, strategic vision, and exceptional people leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and own the organization’s Data Science and AI roadmap, aligning it with key business objectives and growth targets.
- Team Leadership & Mentorship: Build, manage, and mentor a high-performing team of data scientists, ML engineers, and analysts.
- Project Oversight: Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex data science projects, from problem definition and data exploration to model deployment, monitoring, and business integration.
- Stakeholder Management: Act as a trusted advisor to C-level executives and business unit heads, translating business needs into technical projects and communicating data-driven insights effectively.
- Innovation & Best Practices: Champion the adoption of state-of-the-art techniques in machine learning, AI, and MLOps. Establish robust standards for model development, validation, and governance.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with Data Engineering, IT, DevOps, and business teams to ensure scalable and reliable model pipelines and infrastructure.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- 8-10+ years of hands-on experience in data science, machine learning, and statistical modeling, with a minimum of 3 years in a formal leadership or management role.
- Proven track record of building, deploying, and maintaining machine learning models that delivered measurable business value.
- Expert proficiency in Python and its data science stack (e.g., pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch). Strong SQL skills are essential.
- Deep experience with cloud AI/ML platforms (AWS SageMaker, Azure ML, GCP Vertex AI).
- Solid understanding of MLOps principles, big data technologies (Spark, Databricks), and software engineering best practices.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex analytical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and problem-solving skills.
